Words by Andy John Bradford

Well I’ve Just had a long, long talk with a Ferrier Captain
sailing down by the old quayside
its hull was full of tobacco
and she smuggled down the estuary side

and we say, give me a guinea for your brandy
Make me a profit on the job
and we say, give me a guinea for your brandy
It’s the Kings Excise men that I rob

Well the Ship she came in at Satburn
John Andrews he was the licensee
She came down through the borders of Scotland
After spending 18 months out at sea

Well the excise men they made an inspection
The Tobacco was hiding under deck
When they found the haul, they hauled the men to prison
and they slung a noose around John Andrews neck

Still We Say..........

So come all you seafarers take warning
Don’t sail the same tide as the Andrews Men
More be a Jet Miner or a Whaler
Because the excise men will get you in the end

Andy we say....
