The Fluttr Effect Trio builds off the solid art rock foundation of Fluttr Effect, reimagining and reexamining the work of the full band within the context of new arrangements that suit the interplay of the group’s eclectic instrumentation.

The Trio provides a place for a more acoustic style of experimentation. This wing of Fluttr Effect does without the rock band essentials of guitar and drums, stripping down to Vessela Stoyanova on marimba, vibraphone and MIDI marimba, Valerie Thompson on cello and vocals, and Kara Trott on lead vocals.

Fluttr Effect itself is a five-member band that crosses genre boundaries without a backward glance, incorporating goth, metal, prog, and pop influences into their densely woven mesh of thoughtfully composed rock delirium. In addition to MIDI marimba, electric cello, and vocals, the group features Troy Kidwell on guitar and vocals and Jason Marchionna on drums and percussion. The band recently released "Marking Time", it second full length CD.

Fluttr Effect Trio’s first recording, Swallows and Sparrows, includes “Awake,” the single from the forthcoming full-length Fluttr Effect album, along with arrangements of songs from Trithemis Festiva and new compositions by Vessela Stoyanova and Valerie Thompson.
